Recently aquired a Marlin Lever .44Mag. I have been reloading various other rifle calibers for the past year so decided to load for the .44. I found a safe load with 23Gr. H-110 pushing a 240Gr. Hornady HP with a COL of 1.6in. I ran a few 240 factory Imperials through first and then ran the reloads. I inspected the cases for any signs of problems and it appears that the primers on the PMC reloads are a little rounded/deformed compared to the factory stuff
Could this be a sign of excess pressure or a difference in primers (I used Federal), a worn hammer/pin or just paranoia? What are the signs of excess pressure?
Thanks
