So I got a great deal deal on a SigPro 2340. Right now it is the only pistol that I own. I will be using it for ODPL shoots. Have been training with it for a few months now and have used it at 2 shoots. I like the overall feel and the trigger is very smooth but it's DAO and has a loooong trigger pull. I shoot it pretty well but every time I shoot a single action or safe action pistol I shoot better. I'm now wondering if it's worth almost $200 to put a SA/DA fire control in it or just shoot for now and save my pennies?

if you're into competing, i'd say get as good as possible with the existing setup. that way, if you're great with the SigPro in DAO, you ought to be amazingly good with most other pistols.

It's worth it. The whole "consistant trigger pull weight" thing is BS. You can screw up one shot (DA/SA), or you can screw up all your shots (DAO). It's up to you.

I put the short trigger on mine, it helped. Other than the trigger they are very nice guns. However putting a DA/SA trigger on it means coming close to the price of a new Sig 2022. So you have to weigh that side of things. Mind spends most of it's time in a safe as I have 4 other Sigs.
