I've decided on trying one of the new Sightron 10-50X scopes, and it will be used from everything from 100 'benchrest' type of shooting to a couple of forays into (hopefully!) a go at 1000 yards this summer....
The only quick question I have is...which of the three reticles would be best.
There is a mil-dot, fine cross hair and target dot.
Thanks for the input.

I use the FCH reticle as I like to hold off the center to account for windage

Some prefer the dot as they prefer to hold center and dial.

The mildot is wonderful as a field reticle and I use one for smoking rocks and gongs. But it is a bit heavy for paper punching.

Let me know...

I bought it with the target dot. Can't be beat for paper punching, but the hairs are very fine, and might get lost in other applications.

For targets, the target dot is perfect. Mil dots are too cluttered, and FCH have no terms of reference when holding-off. I use my FTD dots to measure hold-off constantly.

I prefer the FCH, as I like to "quarter" the target.

The mildots I have seen are too coarse for precise shooting and the dot by itself sometimes is hard to center for me.
