It's a good thing I haven't had breakfast yet! I would have been wiping it off the Keyboard!;)
By all means, sell off the uncut op rod to some anal retentive M1 collector. You will probably get enough to pay for restoring the rifle, or at least a damm good start.:D
 
So, uh, any anal retenive M1 collectors out there? I've got an op rod to unload...

It looks like most of the parts I need are generic with no dwg # etc, so that keeps the cost down. Anybody know the status of Numrich's parts? They have them all, but I don't want knock off stuff if that's what it is... if it's all good, I'm only up to about $50 in parts! More money to spend on parkerizing!
 
I bought some Numrich parts last year, they are used WW2 era GI parts for the most part. They were also generally all reparkerized - probably by numrich, but some wear beneath the park so you know it's not original finish. They were all serviceable though.
