My choice would be a shotgun with buckshot. With "drug dealers" you wouldn't get into a "shootout", a couple of shots (blanks even) and they would be running like hell...
If you are talking about CCW, then a P7 or a Makarov. Both are small and easy to carry. Some people consider 9mm too small, but then a miss with a 9mm is almost as effective as a miss from a 500 S&W. (Reason is say "almost" is that with the 500 S&W, you will at least burn, blind and deafen them.)
