Ok well I just joined a range and whent out for the first time today. while I was there I seen a poster saying there is a Silouette competion on Sunday. I would like to participate in it however in the description it says that it's for scoped .22's shooting at such and such distance with 4 1/2 min to get as many as possible.

Well my .22 does not have a scope nor could one be fitted on it so could I still participate even without a scope?? I dont really care about winning or not i just want to go for the fun of it.

anyone ever try doing this without a scope?? howed you do?

According to the rules of silhouette, you don't HAVE to use a scope, but it is very advantageous
I would get thee down to yon range on Sunday, even if just to gander about!
Silly wet shoots are a whole bunch of fun to participate in and even just to watch.

Nobody is gonna get turned away. Show up with what you have and if you catch the bug, you will have learned from your experience and that of others what equipment to purchase.

I shot a few matches with a target rifle with iron sights and did fairly well getting 23/40. My first match ever with scope I hit seven.

Ranges are from 40 to 100 meters. 2 mins. 30 sec. for 5 targets. Most ranges run 40 animal matches.

silouette is a hoot... once you start shooting steel you will never go back to paper....

go and have fun and make sure to bring a brick of ammo and lots of mags if you have them :) :)
