Hey guys~if I've read the specs right, it's called a "pvd" (Physical Vapor Deposition) finish. For people not digging the look, but want a Glock that comes in that finish...what are the options? Can they be refinished, and get a different PVD color that is, or comes close to factory black? Any other (not cerakote) options that would give the factory black look? What finish IS on normal, factory Glock slides?

A family member of mine in the southern US tried a 43X and loves the thing...but not the slide color. lol I don't even have an RPAL, so I'm turning the good folks here for some quality info. Ultimately, I get to use his toys if I ever head south for a visit...so anything I can help with, I'd like to try. Maybe he'll cover the ammo. :)

thanks for taking a moment to reply

Sounds like the 48 will be a hit and won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Also look for a black version of it like next shot show ala the Glock 45 vs the 19x. Just my prediction

One of the dealers offered something called ceracote on their glock 48 but can't remember who. I have ordered one from Tenda and I would like to have it done.

Tennifer was the original Glock finish, it's toned down to something closer to nitride, less cyanide in it now.

I know calgary shooting center was offering it. Not sure if they still are.

You got that right. I'm happy that Glock designed a gun specifically for the Canadian market. I'll buy the silver slide model now, and another one with black slide when they become available in the future.
If I find that I really don't like the silver finish, I'll cerakote it a nice Magpul FDE.
