Hello all,
I have a set of marble arms front and rear rifle sights that I want to put on a dominion arms shotgun barrel. Does anyone know of a reputable gunsmith to do the silver soldering? I’ll also want to get it re parkerized after of course.

I just did it myself, I soldered Rem rifle sights to a 14” shotgun barrel. If you do your prep right you won’t have to refinish the barrel, if it’s a parkerised barrel solder won’t stick to it. Solder will only stick to bare metal.
 
That is awesome man! Thanks for posting the link. I see there are screw holes as well just like my Marble arms rifle sights. Did you drill and tap it with screws as well as silver solder or just the silver solder?

Did you sand through the parkerizing for the solder to stick to bare metal where the bases sit? How the hell did you do such a clean job?
 
There are high temp. and low temp silver solders. High temp requires red heat.
Low temp would be a better choice for that reason.
Drilling and tapping a shotgun barrel? Not a good idea. The barrel wall is too thin.
Scribe where the sight is going and scrape/sand to expose bare steel.

I didn’t drill and tap, I just soldered.

I marked the center of the barrel from the middle of the action to the muzzle end, after a few attempts I lined up the sights and used a pencil to outline the sight base. Then I taped off around the pencil lines with two layers of blue painters tape, I then lightly sanded off the parkerizing slowly, adding another layer of tape as it was worn away by the sanding. Once the finish was removed I removed the tape and cleaned the area well, I degreased it and dried it before I applied flux and tinned both surfaces. I wired the sights down tight and heated it with a propane torch till the solder melted and flowed, I did a couple test pieces before I attempted it for real.
