I picked up a new SIG P226 DAK recently, and after noticing that all my groupings were shooting left consistently, I took a closer look at the rear sight. Lo and behold, it seems to be sitting pretty far left on the slide.
I'm looking for either:
A CGN'er with a SIG sight adjustment tool around the Silverdale club in ON area from whom I could borrow it during a trip to the range. Obviously, I wouldn't expect it for free, and would happily pony up some cash, some rounds of ammo, a bit of beer, etc for it. I just don't want to buy the $289 thing when I only have 1 SIG and don't plan on playing with the sights once they're on.
Or,
Suggestions from CGN'ers on how to adjust the sites. I know they're dovetail, and that I could throw it in a padded vice and go to town with a brass punch, but I've read mixed things about doing so on the internet... also, since I don't have brass punches, where could I get some if I went this route? A search of Home Depot didn't reveal anything...
And to pre-empt any questions, I'm fairly certain that it is actually a sight issue. I'm hardly a great shot, but I can usually hold my own with my duty firearm, and my own M&P. The sight actually looks off-kilter when you look at the slide.
Thanks!
