I was a little disappoint today...... After driving back from the gun show in Jerseyville I stopped in at Silverdale to watch the tactical shotgun match at 10am. I checked in at the office to ask if the match was still on and if I could go watch. Apparently because I was not a member or paying to shoot I would not be allowed access to the firing range. I can understand the problems, due to the volume of shooters and lack of parking at the range, but I would have hoped that some exception could have been made for this event......maybe next time?

They are always interested in volunteers! that was my way in to be a part of the contest i wanted to see at the range i wasn't a member of. long day for me, but with volunteering you have leverage in the fact that you can dictate your availability. I know the participants like having volunteers there so they can "zone in," and for me it was very informative and eye opening to how safe, exciting, professional, and fun these events can be.
sorry.....totally my bad. The match was actually on Saturday the 18th and subsequently cancelled. But still, they acknowledged the match at the front desk as being on today ( Sunday the 19th). My apologies to all involved.
