Simcoe Forest

Has anyone in Ontario hunted the Simcoe County Forest. I am a member of the O.F.A.H. and I was advised you could hunt as a member on this land?

I would check with the County of Simcoe (Midhurst) FIRST, THEN the specific lower tier (local) municipality in which you want to hunt ... they may or may not have a "no discharge of firearms" by-law - rather than relying on "heresay".

yes, I do, note that there are specific locations that dont allow hunting due to proximity of dwellings, I belive there is a list on the simcoe county website that specifies which wood lots are not open to hunting

There was an "incident" last year that might make hunting more difficult.
Make sure you get the newest and correct info on which forests you can hunt on, there are many.

Contact the MNR District Office in Midhurst... there are plenty of hunting opportunities in 90% of the Simcoe County forests.
