Simmons 3-9x32 vs Barska 3-9x32 for .22

I have one of the $50 Bushnell rimfire 3-9x32. The eye relief sucks, the eye box sucks, the glass sucks, the turrets suck... Pretty much the whole thing sucks. And I'm FAR from being an optic snob. I still have mine mounted to my Savage Mk II, and it'll probably stay there because its a right-handed rifle and I now shoot left, but when I get a left-handed 22lr bolt gun it will be getting a better scope.

Personally I wouldn't buy another one of these $50ish rimfire scopes... At least not a 3-9x32, I could see myself trying one of the fixed 4x to see if its any better, but the 3-9x32 is just kinda crappy. If I was going to be super cheap again, I'd look at a used scope of some sort. I picked up a used Bushnell 3-9x40 centerfire scope for like $40 off the EE for a friend who needed a scope for his hunting rifle but was super broke at the time.

Spend as much on the scope as you do for your gun and you will be fine.A bottom of the line
"Burris" will make your gun shoot better, and you will shoot better as a result.Cheap scopes belong in the garbage can, and are no fun to shoot.

Right now C-T has a Tasco 4-12x40 for $125. It has 'side-focus' parallax. I bought one a couple years ago for my Marlin-60 and it's fine for 50yd - I can keep under 1" easily which is good for a low-end semi. Just fine for casual plinking or squirrel/bunnies. The Marlin might do better with a better scope but not my direction at present. I have a B22 that cost $340 +tx with a Covenant C-4 FFP-SF 6-24x50 with numbered MOA bars that cost $450 +tx - love it and the B22 goes around 1/2" @ 50 - Better if I try harder / take my time.
