I've got a CZ 452 Standard on the way with some B-Square rings... and was trying to decide on a scope. I know I need something to clear the rear sights, so I don't want to choose something that isn't too big.

I was considering the Simmons 3-9X32 AO Mag or a similar Bushnell Banner. Cost cap is around $100, but would go more if warranted.

Cheers!

I have both of these scopes (although the simmons is the older version with out the AO). Both of them are very nice for the price and I have found both have reliable windage/elevation adjustments. Glass on both of them are quite good.

My simmons has stood up to quite a bit of shooting and is still working great; as is my bushnell.

One thing to consider is that I am not sure where you can send a simmons in to if it it ever need repair where as bushnell has warrenty repair here in Canada which is convenient.

Both are good scopes and I don't believe you can go wrong with either :)

I have a Bushnell Banner 4-12 AO and a Simmons 4-12 AO. The Bushnell is better. The Simmons isn't as sharp to the outside of the field of view as the Bushnell and the point of impact shifts a bit with a power change on the Simmons so I have to just leave it at one setting. For the price (about $130 at Wally's) I'm very happy with the Bushnell, I regret buying the Simmons (altho only a field test really proves a scope), the Simmons cost $145. I won't hurry to buy another Simmons.

Both a crappy choices, one that I had to make today....I went with a Bushnell, (man I hope my friends don't read this).
:)

Mueller

I have a CZ 452 Varmint .22LR, CZ weaver rail, burris sig rings and a Mueller 4.5-14 APV AO Best scope for the money I have ever seen. It's $130 US and well worth it. (I just ordered one for my 10/22 Target)It is as clear and sharp as my buddies high priced Docter. IMHO

Hmm, sounds like the Mueller or Bushnell 3.5-10 AO might be worth the extra coin. Mind if I ask where you would order the Mueller from?

I believe I read 4X is a good magnification for hunting with .22lr, and 10 or 14 is a good range for target work.
