If you google the results from the SF Sniper competitions in the US, you will see that teams use a combination of bolt and semi auto platforms, also I have not doubt that KevinB can chime in about how accurate a SA 308 platform can be, realisticly most of the users a very unlikely to enter many competitions, i can speak to the accuracy of the LaRue guns and have seen OBR 308 rifles consistently turn in 1/4 MOA groups with agency users.

If you were at the NSCC precision match this year with a bolt gun and have shot less than 49 at 500m and 600m, you have been beaten by a 18" AR shooting .223 with a 6x scope.

Very impressive... The AR Platform give to a novice like me in restricteds a whole new world to discover in the accuracy quest... JP.
