Here are some pictures of what I call my "Zombat Shotgun Project", or "Alice". I like the sound of that better than my "Main Bunny Gun" which is what it will remain until the Zombocalypse comes.
It started out as an old-model electroless-nickel finished 870 Marine Magnum (I apologize for the lack of camouflage bikini here; while I would love to uphold that particular tradition, I haven't been able to talk my wife into it. Yet.)
Note the trigger lock. The guy at Baron Sports threw that in for free. He also threw the keys in for free too, when I went back to get them the next day. Grumblemutter.
Anyhow, at this point, I figure that I'm maybe 60% done with it:
Modifications, in order of appearance, are:
Tacstar 4-round side-saddle
Cheapass Canadian Tire 5-round buttcuff
Wilson Combat/Scattergun Technologies Track-Lok II ghost-ring sights, with tritium inserts, ably installed by Jason up at Gunco.
Blue Forge Gear Anaconda breacher's sling
I have also been messing around with a cheapassed ATI flashlight mount combined with a Mini-MagLite with IZE 3-LED and buttswitch conversion:
The ATI mount is grossly unsatisfactory. Simply put, it held on to neither the flashlight nor the gun and would start sliding around under recoil. Judicious application of hockey tape (to the inside of the jaws and to the flashlight tube) allowed it to grip the flashlight, but under recoil again the thing started sliding around on the magazine. So I've applied some tape to the mag tube jaws and the magazine and will be testing that out this weekend. And as soon as I can afford it I'm going to get a Surefire forestock. But dammit, those things aren't cheap.
Next steps are going to be:
Add a BFG sling adapter plate between the stock and the receiver; the current arrangement is workable, but not terribly comfortable.
Get a SureFire weaponlight forestock; I'm torn between that and getting a picatinny rail forestock, which would allow me to hang Even More TactiKewl Stuff off it (I start giggling uncontrollably at the thought of putting a laser sight on it, for some reason).
Get the barrel threaded for Rem Choke Tubes; I'd like the flexibility to bring it up to an Improved or Modified choke.
Been having a lot of fun with this; accessorizing shotguns is almost as much fun as shooting them
