and dont just qualify a response without providing reasons.. or you end up looking dumb!.. really dumb :)

How about you just impress the hell out of us with a dozen more completely irrelavent quotes.

I hope you can hit your target, because you seem to be missing the point of this thread entirely.

Well it is controvertial to say that least, and because of its inhunmane nature is something that might be done away with in time...

What the #### are you talking about???? What controversy? What's inhumane? Ammunition that is more effective? There is nothing inhumane about hollow-point ammunition whatsoever. You watch too many movies and read way too much anti-gun propaganda. And who exactly will be doing away wit it?

when i took my rpal course ~5 years ago the instructor said they will illegal in handguns

I may know which instructor you are talking about. The instructor I'm thinking of was doing some business with armoured car and armed security at the time. He told a class that contained some of my employees the same thing 6 years ago. This was six months after the CFO had allowed HP for armoured/security. When employees came back from the course and informed me that the company was criminal as the law prohibited HP I had more than a few words for the instructor ("slander" was used a few times).
Note that above I said "WAS doing some business with armoured car..."
"Instructor" does not mean expert or the final word.
Hollow point ammuntion is the same as any other ammuntion (except tracer and armour piercing).

Governments and public bodies are not allowed to use hollow points or "dumdum" bullets as they were earlier known, under the Hague Convention,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dumdum

The military can't use hp ammo in combat..good luck finding a police dept that doesn't use it..with the exception of some very backward podunk pd's..

law enforcement use is controvertial and not a universal standard...

Okay..here is my "reason".
I'm a federal law enforcement officer as well as a firearms and use of force instructor.
I've never read about, been told about or received any information what so ever on our duty ammunition being "controversial".
Law enforcement agencies have been issuing hollow point ammo for years.
The only controversy I have been involved in regarding it is..not having enough to send down range!

Don't you have a tree to hug or a seal pup to save?

the controvery that got it banned in the first place... you may not know about it, just like people might not know about Okotoks... its ok dear.

Again I'll ask, what controversy? You haven't got a clue what you are talking about, do you? And you can bait all you like, I don't get upset easily. But i do detest ignorance and arrogance, both of which you seem to posses in surplus quantities.

You have Armies banned form using thenm, United nations does not use them, its specifically mentioned in the Geneva and the Hague convention!! every police departement that uses them has to first justify why they need to use them and you're asking me what CONTROVERSY!!!...

yeah I guess I am ignorant about your level of knwoledge that pertains to this subject.. you got that right!!

im so confused now :(

:) Don't be confused. Everyone here is completely correct in saying that it is 100% legal to buy, posses and use hollow-point ammunition in your handgun in Canada. Period. :D Sorry that your innocent and legitimate question got hijacked, but sometimes these threads can go that way... ;)

Bull####. They're legal. Period. Locked to stop the hijack. Start another thread to discuss this if you wish.
