So after much searching I gave up and ordered a set of 308 dies from Sinclair...at the same time I ordered a RCBS Case Prep Station from them as I have not been able to find one in Canada. The box arrived last week but it was not until today that I was able to open up the items and guess what, I have a 240V model...USELESS in Canada.

Now I've got to get in touch with a company in another Country, ship it back, deal with the customs BS, then wait for a new one to arrive.

Not impressed!!!

hold on there- check the plug- is it a standard ac plug or does it have a funny end on it- these things are often double wound for international applications- ie BOTH 240 and 110- or there might be a switch for both applications- all they do is use both sides of the transformer for 240- hardly useles in canada- your stove and dryer are 240- addedum- i just checked the sinclair site, and indeed, they did send you the WRONG item- what they should have sent you was a 75, and they sent you a 76-

If/when you do get the prep center working you are gonna love it. I've had mine for almost a year, and I can't believe I ever turned anything by hand. Check on youtube for videos of guys that adapted Lee cast trimmers to work so they can trim brass to length on the prep center. Simply awesome for doing large amounts of brass.

It's definately a 240 V, has a big ugly 240V orange sticker on the front and that ugly euro plug. Sent them an email, they are going to send me another one free shipping / customs and pay for shipping back. I'll send it this week. Hope they are as good about customer service as everyone says. Will post update.

They sent you the right thing, Canada is a foreign country after all, and everyone knows the rest of the world is 220-240v, lol. Seriously, it's easy to fix. As mentioned, you have 220 in your house. It's sort of too bad we don't use 220-240 in this country, you wouldn't believe how fast you can charge your cell phone. - dan

Ok, update #1. contacted them and right away they replied they would send me another one with the correct voltage and cover all shipping costs. It was sent mid-week and I have a tracking number. I just dropped the 240V one off at the post office. So far so good other than the PITA of my time.

Watch what voltage and hertz a motor is designed for.

Its not as easy as hooking the motor up to our voltage. The voltage is close as in 240 is close to 220. But the motor is wound for 50hz and could have problems running at 60hz. Some can some can't depends on the motor, how it is designed. What happens is the motor runs on 10% less power and 10hz more speed. Which can produce heat and current issues.

Some appliances have a selectabilty between european and north american voltages, computer power supplies comes to mind. Best to return it and get the right one.

Ok, final update and I'm truly impressed. I shipped back the 240V unit, received a replacement 120V unit, checked it out and all ok. Then a couple days later I recieved an email followup to ensure I was satisfied. Impressed. Now, today I come home and in the mail is a "window envelop" from Brownells. Now we all know what a window means, a bill, so I opened it up and inside was a CHEQUE from them for the amount I paid for shipping!!!!!

Wow, I never expected that. Totally impressed. Gotta give them credit.
