Single point slings……

OK folks helmets on. Here is my self-aggrandizing peacetime war story. During my exhaustive high-pressure six-month tour as a REMF in Bosnia (cough and snort), I found suspending my C7A1 on a single point sling was more comfortable than first expected. I slung it over the left shoulder to hang on my right side. My strong hand could easily steady any movement when moving around, doing limited movements like inspecting vehicles, talking to people at the camp gate, walking the perimeter inside the wire, which in our camp included several sets of steps and a parapet. Easier than hold it at the high port or slung on a two-point sling, and I always had one hand free. God I was so glad to leave that place. I mean two-beers per-man per-day perhaps.
