I'm really interested in finding a nice example of one of the classics...I mean a Cooey 84 or 840 or Winchester model 37A...at least these are the model numbers I'm familiar with.:confused:

I am trying to determine which of these is the relatively slim stocked shotgun, w/ external hammer and a shell ejector that kicks the empty hulls right over your shoulder when you open it up. :) If I can find one of these in 20 Gauge - I'll be very happy indeed.

Any help towards which manufacturer and model number I should put into my "WTB" posting in the Exchange section would be a great help.

Thanks, Jeff.

I have a 37a in .410 and it chucks the shell as soon as you break the barrel. Nice gun and it doesn't kick like a mule

The first gun that was officially mine is a Winchester in 20 guage. My dad bought it brand new for me around 1970. I just went upstairs and checked and its the model 37a alright. Yes I still have the ugly little f**ker but its not for sale. You're right on ejection there Jeff - she sends the empty hulls away into the next time zone ;)

if i dont get some money rolling in soon ill be selling my mint condition winchester model 37a in.....20 gauge:D .;

they are a really nice gun but i havent even had it out hunting in 2 years. where i hunt theres the chance of seeing waterfowl, small game, and coyotes the same day so my 870 always goes with me so i can shoot whatever and have multiple shots if a few grouse decide to take off:D

never thought id see the day when id have to sell a few guns, but its coming quickly i think:(
