Hey all,
May be a new question but I can't find a straight answer on the interwebs. If you have a single shot shotgun in one gauge, can you simply throw another gauge barrel from the same model or is it only certain models that this is possible?
Thanks

Was thinking about a Cooey 840, just cuz I saw someone with a bunch of barrels for sale. Thanks for the info folks.

It depends, they may or may not exchange. I just tried swapping barrels on a few of my different gauge 840's. I was able to put a 20 gauge and a 16 gauge onto my 12 gauge but I could not put the 12 gauge onto them. It snapped on but I couldn't open the gun. You also have to watch as to which 840 it is. The 840 that has the straight grip forearm is different than the 840 that has the fluted forearm. The latching mechanism is different and the lug for the forearm is in a different location on the barrel. Unless the barrels are cheap, it might not be worth the gamble.
