I've read that the Ruger Single Six convertible was made with a .224 barrel to accommodate .22 mag ammo, not the usual .222/.223 LR. As a result, some .22LR doesn't shoot all that well in the convertible models.
I found that to be true with a couple of brands of .22LR, but then I miked some CCI Mini Mags HPs and American Eagle (Federal made) 36 gr copper washed ammo and they were .224.
Accuracy was quite acceptable with these .224 .22LR rds. Thought I'd pass along the tip.
