Having acquired a second-hand 'new model' Ruger Single Six, I am very happy; that is has only the 22LR cylinder dampens my happiness just a smidge.
Doing some online research, it seems the likelihood of a (non-serial-matched) WMR cylinder from a different donor gun working properly is good, but not guaranteed.
The main concerns seem to be the timing of the cylinder, and possibly the length of the cylinder causing interference with the barrel and/or headspacing.
Anybody here have personal experience using a non-matched magnum cylinder in a Single Six, or maybe a horror story of one going wrong?
As a note, I found Midway sells a cool aftermarket 8-shot WMR cylinder for these revolvers; as Midway will not export, has anybody seen anything similar, yet actually available?
