Having owned many different pistols over the years, my favorite are still 1911 single stacks. I am not knocking 2011 and tupperware guns, I just prefer the classic feel.

If your club put on a single stack challenge would you pay to shoot it?

I doubt you're going to get many "against" this poll...:)

Try saying "would you actively help run a single stack match?"
or
"Would you attend it over your regular shooting pastime? (IPSC, PPC, Cowboy, *DPA, etc.)",
and I'll bet you'll see some interesting answers.

We already have one thread running about what is the best DPA. Not many would argue the 1911 is still king in retail sales. I just wanted to know would people shoot if it was offered.

As for volunteers, I am sure there are many 1911 afficanados who would help run an event. Most IPSC, *DPA shooters would help as they know what it takes to run an event.

I am with Sean, I don't think you would have a problem getting competitors, putting on a match with help..that is another story...I am very fortunate this time around (for the Ontario Provincials) to have the group of guys that are just awesome, even so it is a lot of hard work. I know one of them has spent more than 100 hours in the last 2 weeks. Having sad all this Yes I would shoot Single Stock only match.

sure, I'd shoot the match

my Avatar & ending slogan says it all.

It would probably be a small turnout, not too small, but on the small side.

I shoot a single stack now in ipsc.

I'd shoot it, but would not substitute it for a regular ipsc level 2 or higher match.

Love to see IPSC with a Single Stack Division, even more so if it were limited to .45acp with no race holsters. Kind of a IDPA CDP Division with more targets to shoot. Heck, I might even join IPSC to shoot it.

Yes you are right there. Maybe next year if John runs a Black Badge Course. I shoot IPSC at the club level in Pr. Rupert but man these old bones don't like to move as fast as they once did. I like to exercise my Tanfoglio "L" model. Even more so now I have the .40 Conversion Kit for it.
