Single Stroke Air Rifle/Pistol Suggestions?

I think any .177 air pistol that can shoot tight groups at 10m is worth looking at.

I can even get a left-hand version too.:)

I imagine practicing with it would really help my scores in bullseye too (if I ever get back into it.)

Take alook at the Gamo Compact. Adjustable Target Grips, excellent trigger and super accurate at 10 mtrs. Great value IMHO!

I'm actually trying to figure out which air rifle i wanna pick up.

I've got it narrowed down to the Weihrauch HW 97K or Air Arms TX200 (I actually made a thread about it if you search).

Both are high end fixed barrel spring action rifles.

Currently I'm leaning more towards the HW97 because I prefer the underlever release mechanism, larger breech to load pellets, uses 'anti bear trap' breech safety vs the catch system in the TX200. The TX200 however has an amazing blue polished metal finish which is gorgeous (even though it would probably require cleaning a lot more), and apparently the TX200 is just slightly better out of the box. With a professional tune, the HW97 turns virtually unstoppable.

Those both look like nice air rifles!:)

If it means anything to you, it looks as though the Weihrauch has been discontinued also.

Personally, I prefer to buy things I can find spare parts for if need be.

damn, i haven't heard anything about the HW97 being discontinued, still available at D&L, SSSO, and on the Weihrauch website.

Sorry, I'm not sure how accurate my intel is.

I'm primarily going off of this site in both cases: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Weihrauch_HW97_Air_Rifle/829

You would be wise to confirm with Weihrauch personally though.

I just assume that Pyramyd Air would be continuing to sell them if they were still available.

FWIW, A search of a few other sites gave me the Gamo as being unavailable too.

the Baikal IZH 46M Match Air Pistol is a great pistol for 10m target shooting. The barrel is fixed so the sights don't move.

then next best thing I've found is the Beeman P17 or the Marksman clone, the model 2004.

I had the cheaper Marksman 2004, but it didn't reflect it's accuracy. The parts for the P17 and interchangable with the P2004, but you pay a consilderable amount more for the P17.

I had a cheap crosman red dot on mine, and with it I could hit cans 30m away. The holdover was like 2m. I could hit the can consistently because each charge of air was the same which mean't the same velocity. As long as your seals are good, the gun is very accurate beyond what is considered practical for a pistol.
