Sinsinati Single shot 12 vent rib glow peep sights and muzzle brake choke suggestions

Hey guys 2 for 1 question, has anyone had experience mounting any truglow or similar sights that have a circle rear (with two dots) and single post front arrangement? It's going on a sinsinati single shot 12 guage.

I am also looking for a screw in "choke" with a muzzle brake, mostly wanting to use it for slugs with this choke. If I am correct I remember Martin from Corwin saying these guys use Browning Invector chokes? Just wondering what my options might be.

Fact is, ported chokes do reduce recoil. It's just not enough for a shooter to recognize or quantify.

Ported chokes also strip the shot wad better causing the wad to fall quicker ie: not travel as far. But again, how distinguishable the results are are debatable.

As for your Sinsinati choke question, they do take Invector chokes.

This is a ported Patternmaster choke that I have. It fits all Corwin 12 ga shotguns and most (all mine at least) DA Grizzly shotguns.

Great to know, thanks! What would be a good choke size for slugs in this configuration? Not sure about screw in chokes with slugs and what choke would be safe to shoot out of..
 
I have a custom made ported choke to reduce pressure. It certainly doesn't reduce recoil. It increases it. However the constriction is .650. If i use it for skeet the squad has to stand well behind me as it often blows pieces of wad in every direction. I had it made to shoot 1-1/8 oz #5 for turkey.
For slugs I had found mod to cyl work best.
Rio star and challenger slugs shot great out of all my chokes up to full. Amazingly well from my rifled barrel

I'm yet to shoot my 12" single shot, but you're not the first I've heard say theirs came apart on them rather quickly. Those forend screws don't look like they would hold after repeated firing.

So if a shooter can't even recognize or quantify the difference in recoil that a ported choke causes, how are you measuring the reduction in recoil, to know that it even exists?

I tried my buddy's gen 1 12ga and felt it was a decent gun and gave the gen 2 a tried.

First trigger came with non functional safety, they shipped me another one, which also doesnt work.

Took it up to moose this year, and a few grouse and rabbits later, it shot itself loose. The gun also doesn't #### reliably and had a slamfire when i closed the action ( luckily gun was pointed at a safe direction). The final straw was when i closed the action for the last time, the firing pin went forward and now i cannot #### it to open the action.

Good thing grouse river had a sale on few weeks back and i bought a steoger 20 coach as my beater for when i am up north. Going to give that a go when duck season is over.

Were you just shooting target loads? I've been eyeing a 18" 12ga for a truck gun for grouse/rabbit on the roadside, but if it's going to fall apart in short order maybe I'll pass...
 
I bought a 26" one for $150 from Corwin at the Victoria gun show a few days ago. I wanted a cheap shotty to learn trap with but it appears this one may be a poor choice.
I've had the plastic stocked backpacker for a couple of years and it shoots fine and has stayed together.

18 rounds of 2.75 high brass 6s. Granted my buddy's gen 1 is pretty good, but the other gen 2 410s has the same non functional safety, mitigated by being a break action with 10lbs trigger pull.
