SIR/Cabela SKS pics

Yep, painted bolt. Bottom of mag has blocker welded into it. Numbers force matched electro-pencilled, stock re-numbered. Overall great buy.:)

What the heck. Is that just a single one they had or did the shipment come in? I was just there yesterday. And the day before.

They weren't on display. I think they came in Wed or Thursday. All had already been presold. I think they had orders for 700 (with deposits?) but only 200 rifles. I had paid in full way back, over a year ago. By Friday they were all shipped out except for those last three pieces that were local pickup sale.

when i came in , today to pick mine up , there was a 2 page list and there was still 7-10 ppl that had to pick them up.

maybe ill take mine out for a spin sunday, before i take my chop saw to it lol

Just stopped in there today. Said they got 200 hundred in and there is more to come. Picked up a crate of ammo because that should be sold out soon to. They did not have to much left.

Hmmm,

I was out of town Wednesday through late Friday and just got the message Saturday morning regarding my invoice for two SKS. I left them a message with SIR but sure hope that they didn't go to the next person down the list, which would leave me royally annoyed!

I'll be calling them first thing Monday morning!

Huh.
I guess we just can't go buy what those clerks say on anything. Everyone gets different info from every clerk. When I was in Friday the guy I asked about ammo, the guy said they had over 1000 cases still, and on site in their Wpg warehouse, and more coming. I asked about getting an SKS shipping crate and was told they were busted up and thrown into the garbage. I walked over to another fellow 3 minutes later, and he said, "Sure, I'll call the guys in the back and get them to bring one up for you" - and then I got a crate. Sheesh!

Did they put one aside for you?

I called first thing and the two rifles that I had on backorder were available for purchase. So there's two Rusky SKS's headed my way.

different price as they told me, 199 instead of 169. they said its because its '45 instead of '56. didnt like that, but its only 30 bucks, not a big deal.

Ya kind of what i thought. I would assume that everyone would get a different answer. He told me what is on the pallet is all they have left...

Yes, everyone had to pay the new price. Still a great deal.:)

I am pretty sure I have an email from Cabelas/SIR stating that I still only have to pay the $169.00 I will have to do some searching and bring that in with me...

I guess they'll make good "shooters"
I'm disapointed they aren't at all as the girl described to me on the phone, not nearly as nice as the two I got from Frontier, and when mine arrives it'll be in the EE

Thats all an SKS is good for is shooting. These are not precision works of art, just plain old fashioned battle rifles.I can't understand all the fuss on these old guns. They are on the fringes of collectability, and never will be worth much money, compared to any other military gun such as a Mauser or Luger ,Bren, etc. Just buy one and shoot the hell out of it.They are the volkswagon of guns, and don't deserve all the fuss made over them.I bought a Norinco back in the 70's for 85 dollars and today it is worth 200.The 85 dollars back then could buy more than 200 bucks could now.Enjoy these old guns for what they are made for.

funny , i bought a new early chinese SKS from leverarms for $149 two and a half years ago and today i could easily sell it for $250 , thats a 68% increase . not even the over heated realestate market in vancouver at the same duration could beat that.:D

its all about timing . to each their own .

Just wait until the SKS collecting catches on up here. Once it does prices will skyrocket like they have south of the border.
