Just thinking back to all the excellent SKS's I have owned. Is there any SKS that is on your "do not ever sell" list? If so, what is it?

Mine's a dead reliable as-issued 1954 Tula that was imported by IZH in early 2008. It has been in my possession since 2012. Non-refurbished and with very interesting and usual cartouches on the pistol grip. It's an honest to goodness 3 MOA (on average) using the irons and my aging eyes (using Barnaul). She's a keeper!

"Sasha".... the first gun I ever bought. I could never sell her.

Early 1950 SKS with spike bayonet. Has all 1949 features. All matching serial numbers including magazine but it does have a replacement laminate stock. From my research, it is the only one documented with pictures in North America.

I had one. Non refurbished 1951 in pristine condition. Didn't sell it. Gifted it to one of my best friends after he got his paperwork. It only took me about 10 years to bring him to the dark side :) Now he's around 12000 into various toys :) Dont have pictures of it but it went from being my safe queen to being his safe queen.

Didn't buy it in the wrap/grease but it dang close...don't know if it was used at all. Probably should have left it be but I just had to shoot and use it.

A real beauty there!!
Keeping an SKS *in the grease" is akin to keeping a computer new in the box for future use. Keep shooting it and just keep her clean. It's value will still climb.

Well, I'm of the firm opinion that I will never sell any of my firearms, ever. They either get used, collect dust, or be given away as gifts. This idea might change in the future, if I am seriously in need of cash (i.e. if someone's goddamn life in at stake) but otherwise no.
My first SKS I'll forever keep as an unkillable workhorse, that's for sure. Got two other SKS, one of which will probably end up in the hands of my father eventually.

Thank you!

Good point in regards to maintaining value too. I'll keep it in good shape.

Out of 2 dozens of SKS, i am glad i only reselled one, many of the others have been foster home to family members with a valid PAL. If i died, they get to keep it, saving on the paper work. JP.
