Six more days, and I'm off to moose camp.
Wish me luck.
It's not a terrible long journey for me, in fact, the start of the ATV trail is about 45 minutes from where I sit, and the ATV drive is only another 45.
That's assuming the beavers have been friendly, and we don't have to much cutting, or pond fording to do.
If I don't see any moose, I'll try for a black bear.

5 days for me. WMU 61. about 2 hours from where i'm sitting. can't wait. 4 of us got a bull tag!?!?!? we're not asking any questions! we've never had a tag in 16 years. there's always been a good moose population there. we got a calf last year. two of us saw a bull, 2 cows and a calf in'06.

Have a good one, buddy! Did you draw a tag? I did my moose hunting in The Yukon this year, so no Ontario moose hunt for me this fall...........I have been whaling the geese instead. Goose hunt, moose hunt, what the heck......

Moose is something I'd like to try for one day. My cousin just got one with a bow up near TB...time to hit him up for some meat!!

Actually, with a damned calf tag, I'm looking as much for a bear as for a moose. The 88 in 308 is going, I might take my 96 Swede in 6.5X55 along, but I have not tried it in the hard case yet. If it's too long, It'll be the '94 Winchester.
My Big 1886 45-70, will wait for bigger game.

good luck on your hunt, ours starts on the 20th with foxer and foxer Sr (hopefully his knee will be in good nuff shape to hunt) I already buggered up the hunt by shooting a imature bull in region 7 on monday but we still have 3 tags left between us

Just got back from our trip on monday afternoon. 2 Bulls down (quite the story)/ 2 tags not used but have till end of October-but the 2 bulls will do as a few of us have cow elk draws.

Great time had by all-except trip out - truck/24' flat deck sled trailer with camp w/o quads stuck in bad hole for 3+hours - hooked up 2 quads in tandem trying to pull truck/trailer before we hit the bad hole, then flat tire on trailer.
