To our valued customers:
Due to the overwhelming number of daily inquiries on progress of Modern Sporter receivers we are not offering updated estimations of delivery on individual orders. The drain on our limited manpower is causing delays with having to respond either by phone or email to every inquiry about when a specific order might be shipping.
The second production run has started to ship but it is over 700 units and will continue to ship out over the coming months as receivers are ready.
If you are in the third production run (ordered after April 15th) then your receiver is anticipated sometime in the late spring / Early summer of 2020.
The day your order is ready to ship we will be in contact.
Your patience and understanding in this is appreciated.
Maybe we can do an end of the week update, I'm not promising this, but I will try to see about doing it consistently.
Op 1 & 2, which gives the lower most of it's outside shape, we have about 2/3 rds of them built.
Op 3, which machines out the area for the fire control group, etc. we are keeping right up to pace with op 1.
Op 4, the wire EDM which cuts out the mag well has definitely been our biggest bottle neck, but we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel! We have been fighting issues in the programming preventing us from utilizing the fixture we had built to run 12 parts per cycle. Despite efforts to bring in a specialist, the manufacturer of that machine has been little help. The machine literally, and sadly, had to be babysat and run one part at a time. We appear to have resolved this with successful runs on test parts yesterday, and closely monitoring a multi-part per cycle run today.
Why is this so important? Because the EDM will always be the slowest operation, and loading it 1 part per cycle it can only be working while we have someone standing in front of it. Now we can load the machine up with 12 parts at the end of the day, leave it to work the "automated night shift".

We are not blaming customers for any delays.

We have machines that breakdown that we prefer to blame.
