I didn’t take these pics, just posting these In case someone wants to see how steyr looks side by side with some other guns...

I was surprised how small the gun is...and I have one lol.

FYI; Canadian version has a 4mm longer barrel...

It's not that small really, standard full size duty auto like the G17, handles a lot like a G17 too. Handling a P7 makes it feel large. Nice pistols, low bore axis and interesting grip angle. If you need extra mags I have a stash of new in package ones for it, $27.

It's closer to Glock 19 than Glock 17... the top pic has a G20 which is the same size as G17 (only with larger grip) and steyr is clearly smaller...and better looking

the more I look at the XD..the more I want to . Its got some of the worst lines of anything out there..sort of makes a Hi Point look like a #### queen.. That Steyr is nice..but its missing our "longer" barrel isnt it?

Have to agree on both counts...The XD's lines..."only a mother could love 'em".
All of this recent posting on the Steyr has got me looking at getting another one....in 9MM of course.....
Dammit...just when I thought I was out...I get sucked right back in!

Thats what I thought till I shot one, now I have two! (9 and 45) very user friendly. I'd love to shoot the styer sometime for comparison, but then I'm afraid I'd have to buy one of those too

yeah shown like that the XD even makes the glock look sweet, I really dont care for the lines after seeing after those pics, but the steyr looks sweet

G20 is NOT the same size as the G17. Barrel and slide are longer, grip is bigger, and G20 is quite a bit heavier.

That's the truth. For all intents and purposes, the Steyr is a direct competitor and equal of the G17 (a good thing). Size differences are laughable though. It's closer to a G17 than a G19 by good measure.

Here are some pictures of a "Canadianized" (106mm barrel) Steyr M9-A1 sitting on top of a Glock 17 (114mm barrel). The guns have not been moved from one angle to the next.

Although the M9 is designed to have the same length barrel as a Glock 19, I think the M9 is closer in overall size to the G17. The Glock 19 seems to be a conscious effort to make a somewhat concealable gun with a 4 inch barrel (102mm), whereas the M9 is more of a duty pistol.

That's my take anyway. The Glock 17 isn't a massive gun either though. Not compared to those 5 inch (127mm) guns (XD, Para) in the above pictures.

Each to their own, to me a glock wouldn't look sweet even if I was blind, they just radiated ugly utilitarianism, I much prefer the XD, but it's a big world and that means more of what each of us like for ourselves right?
