Very easy to use 303 British. I have expanders made up that I use. I load it with 41 cal pistol bullets with a load of black powder to fire form.
I only happen to have magnum 209... What softness are the regular comparable to? Are different brands different in this regard. I have done only limited shotshell reloading up till now...So you are wanting to know what shotgun primers have a soft cup?
If your gun cannot fire a 209 primer then maybe you need to look at the protrusion of that firing pin, get that fixed first.
Beginning to think that. But the primer question remains. Is it easier to simply have it re-chambered to standard .410 ?
I think you need to look at how your firing pin is hitting the primers, something is not right, I do not expect magnum primers to be any harder than regular for a 209, they should be easy to set off.I only happen to have magnum 209...
