SK mz deer: Wife got her deer this AM!

Happy on the farm, plan on leaving feet first.
Few yrs ago bought a TC Impact mz for wife, season never happened in AB, this is the first yr in SK Actually have time to do some htg. Today set up her blind, a couple trail camera's and dusted off the never shot TC with scope. Load was 80gr Goex ffg, 300gr nosler sabot, win 209 primer; here's today's target:

Gotta say, for a rifle bought with mounted scope,.......pretty impressed. Tomorrow or next day will go to 100 yds and 100gr ffg. Think that should be a good load for it.

Only quit 'case she was getting a little sticky even with running a patch through it. Gotta mix up more moosemilk. (I use murphy's, windshield washer antifreeze, fantastic, and pinesol, followed with dry patches, olive oil, then dry patches; works for me)

The removeable breech plug is Really nice! After cleaning I put gorilla grease on the threads......good, bad idea??

Well, wife had success this morning. While she's helped with numerous deer/elk/moose over the yrs she said she wanted to do everything herself, and she did. In the field all I did was offer a couple tips and at the house I had a coffee. (she was always better at boning out than I)
You can see her blind in the backround, maybe 40yds(?) away. Deer was shot about 10 yds right of pic. Huge swath of blood looked a foot wide and about 20' long in the grass.

Got the deer in the truck with 2 ratchet straps and a little block and tackle I keep in the daypack.

Couple more days of picking rock then it's my turn to try.

Fantastic! My wife said the same thing to me this year after we were done a goose hunt. I stood by here to offer little hints and tips otherwise I just enjoyed the morning sun and watched her clean and process x12 geese. I think I get more pleasure seeing someone come full circle from knowing nothing to developing the skills than I do out of my own shooting and hunting. Its even better when its your partner. Again FANTASTIC!
