I just bought a SKB 12ga pump shotgun model 7900, I have never seen or heard of one till I saw this one, I know of the company. I love the balance and weight of this gun and the action is smoother than anything I have owned or tried and that is many.
If anyone knows anything about this model I would like to hear about it.

Thanks John

They are sort of an Rem.870 copy with a more ergonomic slide release and an etched Aluminum receiver. Very good guns. Smith and Wesson marketed them as well under their own name, I think the O.P.P. had riot guns made by them, for a while. I remember Lever Arms surplussing them in the early 90's.

Some else told me they were more Remington than Ithaca also. Will a Remington Barrel fit the SKB?

Could this shotgun be fitted for screw in Rem chokes and can it use steel shot?

they have chrome lined bores so in order to ream amd thread for choke tubes one of two things must be done. If the Gunsmith has a Carbide choke reamer, this will work. If he has a H.S.S. reamer, the chrome must be removed first with a flexihone and then it can be reamed.

It is raining and I have nothing better to do but bring this thread back up. I had asked for advice before here as to the price this shotgun would be worth?

SKB make excellent guns. If they are not safe for steel shot (I don't know) then it limits their use to upland or clays primarily. Easily a $350 gun, maybe more to the right buyer.

pulled it out of the cabinet today and it is very nice. I am thinking my youngest Lad may like it for turkey this season, his first by the way. :)

They are from the 70"-80"s sold new for $79.00-$89.00 of its a fixed full choke u have it opened for steel it have been the previous owner was hunting with it . The weatherby po-8' of today is basically the same gun it's built on the se expired patent . U can buy them new with screw in chokes for 3-400$ depending on whitch version $ 350 for fixed choke may be Optimistic . I bought a used version same as the one we are discussing from a shop with added screw in chokes for 250.00 they ate nice guns
