- Planet Earth Wearing My Tinfoil Hat
Occasionally I've seen someone with a small round disk on their glasses. From what you just said, a more costly version of translucent tape. I should give that a try.
Yes the only difference is the small round disc sticks by static not glue so you can remove them without glue getting on your lens or fear of scratching your lenses trying to remove the tape or glue. They are not expensive. I have a card full of them in various colors to match various colors of shooting glass lenses and the optician gave them to me free with my shooting glasses. I only have one color of lenses, target orange so I use the translucent orange dot. They are very easy to apply. Have someone assist you to properly align it with the pupil.
These steps are very important in proper alignment of the dot to the pupil.
Mount your gun to your shoulder wearing your glasses and look down the barrel as you would taking aim over the trap house. Have the person use a black marker of the type that washes off. Have them make a black dot centered on your pupil with the tip of the marker. Remove your glasses and apply the dot or tape to the inside of the lens aligned centered on the black dot they made. Then wipe off the black marker dot and you are good to go. Make sure to keep looking down the rib when they place the marker dot on the lens so your eyes do not shift to them coming in with the marker.
