I went to the Silver Willow skeet shooting near carstairs and I am now hooked! They have an amazing setup there if anyone is interested in checking them out!

Radium shoots are always great, perhaps not for those who want to increase their stats, but all great tough targets in different terrain. Tons of prizes, for those who shoot well in their classes, as well as Lewis class, 50/50, Kootenay Cash worth around $450 (one white bird thrown on Saturday and one thrown on Sunday), a pheasant hunt in Kimberly, three sporting clays fees (close to $1000), a guided duck/goose hunt in Saskatchewan (which I won) as well as door prizes and great food.
Ya, the Radium shoot went well.

They had a great turnout, mostly nice people to shoot with, some mean spirited as you can see as above.

Targets were challenging. Not impossible, but if your head wasn't in the game, it made for a very frustrating day.
My favourite was the poison bird. I do think that they need a left handed target setter though.

Good times,
I missed my kids, my wife, my gun and many of my targets.

6.5x55iswonderful made comments about my shooting that could have been construed as mean spirited, saying that i needed more practice. I was joking when i said that was mean. It was not mean, it was barely sufficient. I had a million excuses for over 100 dropped targets.

I hope everyone knows me well enough that if they catch me waving the pity flag, it is fair to jump on.

Last in my class happens occasionally, this time it was my turn.

For the record. A Great event, meals, prizes targets. Just not my best performance.

Not to worry NZClayBuster. At our post shoot meeting, it was suggested that next year we introduce a "Hurt Feelings Report". If you have a bad day, just fill it out and we will try and generate some sympathy.

Anyway, we did try and set targets so they were very hittable when shot as singles, the challenge came when they were presented as pairs. Thanks to all who attended, the support was fantastic.

This was my first time to Radium I was more than impressed with the whole experience great targets, people, meals etc. I hope to make this shoot and others at the club next year.

I didn't know Radium had a course, as far as Carstairs it's a good place to shoot? I'm up in Edmonton so I've got Beaverhill nearby which I've heard is fantastic.

Radium course is about 5+km west of Radium on the Horsethief Forest Service Road. Typically three sporting clays shoots per year. Fudd's Fantasy (Elmer Fudd) which is all rabbits is in early May, Radium 333 normally at the end of June and Bugaboo Blast probably on the 2013 Labor Day weekend. Also trap, skeet and 5-stand as well as rifle, handgun and archery.
