I attended my very first Skills and Drills event tonight, hosted by our very own Slavex. I had a great time and picked up some useful pointers. I saw a few familiar faces in the crowd too, and a 'crowd' it truly was! There were so many we needed to be organized into 3 separate shooting groups to allow all to participate.

Slavex was the perfect host and his hobbling hardly showed ... :D. I hope the knee gets better soon!

This is yet another excellent event available to Lower Mainland shooters ... we are a fortunate bunch.

Thanks for putting this on Rob, much appreciated! :)

about time you made it out, too bad Mike couldn't have shot more. It's nice to see a big turnout (which surprised me tonight), but it also makes it hard to really focus on some of the new shooters and see what they are doing. I spend more time making sure everything is safe. Tonight we had a couple of instances where I had to talk to people about their gun handling, and I think they got the message.

Its sad when I go to Afghanistan and can't wait to come back, cause this place is cutting into my range time!

Skills and drills has been a revelation, one that I sorely needed. Slavex has helped me more with my pistol shooting in 2 nights than all my time spent shooting in uniform. Sad but true.

I'll bring Mike along again and I'm sure he'll do more shooting.

He was feeling a little out of sorts tonight, which probably explains it all, but still quite enjoyed himself and is looking forward to another S&D.

I'm thinking we need to do a little work on some elements of that future website of yours, whaddya think? You have a well run and highly educational event and not nearly enough people know about it ... but I'll bet you probably think you're busy enough! ;)

Did you say you were in Afghanistan? If so, please accept my most sincere thanks for your service.

Apologies for the thread hi-jack.

His location is listed as KAF (Kandahar Air Field), Almost home. So I am guessing he is in A-stan.

I would also Like to thank you for your service!:canadaFlag:

you mean the drills I get the guys to do? buy any of the IPSC related training books, they are filled with them. That's where I get them from.

I was just happy to shoot after a little pause due to my neck. I enjoy skills and drills nights alot, my only recommendation is that during summer months it would be nice to perhaps utilize the outdoor range a bit. Slavex runs a good night of shooting and learning that anyone can benefit from.

that's your copy? I thought I'd bought that off Dragoon? hmmmm are stains on the cover ok?
