I'm going to have to try these out on my Contender carbines... :D

I have scopes mounted on all of my Contender barrels except my 410 vent rib barrel so I never did try these out.

I've been popping my XS Sights low Weaver backup ghost ring rear sight onto my Match Grade Machine scope bases when I pop the scopes off or have the factory rear sights mounted in front of the scope base.

Skinner publishes the height required for the front sight to work, they also sell excellent front sights, I've gone to Skinner sights on most of my leverguns, I have even gotten the full range of aperture sizes for target/load work.

Only in used or if your lucky you will find a new one hidden behind a counter that the rest of us missed...

I have a Skinner rear on my 1895GS. Works GREAT with a Williams red F/O front. I usually keep the small insert out and use like ghost rings.
