I recently saw a double barreled 12ga [fixed chokes] that was engraved on top of one of the barrels with, Skinner Sports, Toronto. Has anyone seen a similar gun or know anything about the history of said items. Thanks for any feedback.

I know the shop was on Adelaide Street in downtown Toronto. IIRC the shop did import some nicely built English guns that were possibly branded by the store. I wish I could remember more but that was a long time ago.

I've seen them before. The last time was about 20 years ago when Precision Arms had a three gun set of them in 12, 20, and 28 gauge. I hesitated and someone else bought them. :(

They were made in Spain by AyA and the ones I saw were boxlock ejector guns similar to the AyA Model 4.

Here's a link where you can find the date codes to see when the gun was made.

The date code Z1 puts it at 1980 date of manufacture. A box lock with ejectors, straight grip stock and checkering on the butt instead of a plate or pad. Still cant determine the manufacturer. There is an emblem of an European style deer head mount with the letters RBI within a circle and many hours of googling and searching shows up nothing on it. Did find a picture of an action which looked exactly like it; a gun associated with Denton and Kennel [British Importers] who imported Spanish barrels and actions and then stocked them in England................but who made the darn thing???? Very nice fit and finish, fixed chokes, engraved roses and other flowers.....and 'Skinner Sports Toronto Ont' engraved on the barrels, but that could have been done in Toronto.....don't know. Weighs 6 1/2 pounds.
Did AYA make it or one of dozens of small gunmaking companies working in Spain?
