Skip the expander die step .44mag?

The last 100 rounds or so I've skipped this step. I'm shooting hard cast 240gr swc beveled base. The extra neck tension seems minimal, no noticeable accuracy loss for me anyhow. With the inside of the neck chamfered a bit extra, there's no shaving of led off the cast bulets when pressing it into the case like I thought there might. Haven't loaded any jacketed bulets yet.
Lazy or what?

If it works, go with it.

My concerns would be the lead getting shaved but you said it was fine. Possible the bullet going in on an angle. I need to order some Noe Lyman M style expanders so my cast goes in straight.

If it's not casting a problem with the cast I can't see how it would effect the jacketed stuff.

I've always set the bulet seating die so the crimp is a couple of thousands off the brass. My thinking that it will help line the bulet up straighter. Also I always only press the bulet in 1/2 way then spin the cartridge a 1/2 turn before pressing it all the way. A habit I got into years ago now it's like OCD and I have to do it. Not doing it is like I've done something wrong. ��
