Thinking getting the Kahles scope, but not sure which reticle to get between SKMR and the new and popular SKMR3.

New to the shooting game, SKMR seems quite simple and traditional. SKMR3 is the one with Christmas tree at the bottom, not sure if I would use it later in long term.

Any experience on any of both of these recticles?

Thanks in advance.

I have the SKMR3 because I shoot PRS, love it. If you aren't going to shoot any matches, the SKMR will do just fine.

I'd rather have something and not use it, then need it and not have it. They're the same price, the tree doesn't take up that much space and it's not like you can't see through it.

As mentioned already if your going to get into Precision Rifle matches than I'd also recommend the SKMR3 as wind holds are needed pending on stage designs. If your only plinking then the SKMR is plenty IMO. I also run the SKMR3 on my Kahles and haven't looked back

Thank you.

Make sense. SKMR3 it is.

SKMR3 is an awesome reticle....great for calling and adjusting for misses. PRS guys like it for that speed, but to suggest the SKMR is adequate if you’re not shooting PRS makes absolutely no sense. If you like the Christmas Tree type reticle the SKMR3 is a great choice if you prefer a standard reticle the SKMR is still a good choice.
