Hi guys. I'm new and just posting for the first time here. I recently bought an SKS 106 factory and I noticed that the magazine is the original one that accepts 10 rounds through the stripper clips. Does anyone know if I need to pin it to 5 rounds? Or, like the Garand, can I continue to use it with the enblocks of 8 rounds? Any help is appreciated.

I'd say there's a 99% chance it's already pinned. Try loading your rifle from a stripper clip (if you've got any), you should only be able to strip off half the ammo (since stripper clips hold 10 rounds). The "pin" is actually a little post/rivet that blocks the mag follower from the bottom. If you wanna see it, drop the mag floorplate and look near the hinge where the floorplate swings down. Try pushing the mag follower arm to the bottom of the mag floorplate, you'll notice it hits the little pin. Viola!

Any centrefire rifle magazine for a semi-automatic must be pinned to 5 rounds. The exception is the Garand with it's enbloc clips. The SKS does not use an enbloc system.
