SKS 2017 price check

My thoughts are, it was Russia's first attempts at Parkerizing and most are very nice! These days most, if not all ar and military rifles along with many others are Parkerized similarly! It is less reflective, corrosion resistant and relatively inexpensive! If buying a shooter, it is great and being a refurb, it likely has a new barrel and other worn parts replaced! Obviously, if you want a collector sks you would buy a blued copy!

I have an early Norinco SKS that is Parkerized and that is one area they could teach the Russians about. It is a beautiful tough matte finish that has stood up to 30 years of shooting and still looks great. It seems to shoot more accurately than my Russian SKS's too.I love them all equally though, even my ugly worn out, frankenpinned, bbq paint coated, shooter. It always goes bang, and seems to hit what I'm shooting at.

I didn't know the Norc sks had Parkerizing! I have seen some Russian sks with real crappy paint/park finish but also have seen ( and bought) many with awesome park type finishes on them. I guess when they were refurbing millions of sks, the realized the opportunity to experiment with durable non reflective coatings!

I posted some pics of a few of the sks I got from the CTC promo sale in the cabelas rusted spring thread above! Finally learned how to post them, although the pics aren't great!
