A no date SKS with hardwood stock is likely a 1955,late 1955 dont have date on the cover.

I got a chinese one that I mallninjad up. Looking to get a Nice laminated Russian to keep stock. At those prices, you cant get enough. I think it's a damn cool rifle.

Yeah the Laminated SKS's look great, always wanted to get one and of all the different types of Rifles that I have owned over the Years at one time or another the SKS design is by far my favorite.

Got a crate of 10 Russian SKS on the way. I am not sure how many SKS I have but with the crate its over 40.
 
This thread makes me feel better (was feeling guilty). I have 5 Russians - 2 in Tapco stocks, one hw gold bayo, one laminate and one hw non-refurb.

You never have to feel guilty about collecting SKS's they all have their little differences that make them unique...it is a great hobby and I dread the day when we may finally run out them to collect.

btw-Is the gold bayonet caused from the oil or cosmoline? I alway wondered why some have it and others don't.

Here's my question and Joce, you might know the answer to this one - if it's a "k" series, that means the very last run of SKS's, so you would think she'd be on a laminate stock but this beauty is on a hardwood stock, is non-issued, non-refurbed....so, unless she actually turns out to be a refurb which I doubt, how rare would this rifle be?
