SKS 5/30 Round Metal Magazine $59.00

I had trouble with this mag 'stovepiping' on the last round every time - did some research and found the lips were too far apart, and that was supposed to be the cause - I measured mine and they were 13mm across the gap at the back, so I squeezed them to 12mm and.....................presto no more stovepiping, so if you have this issue try this but only squeeze in very small increments so you dont go past - it's harder to open them than squeeze them shut while maintaining uniformity.......
 
Got mine from Wolverine. I don't think it's as reliable than the original mag but it sure looks great. Regardless, I like it and I'll continue to use it.

Mine fails to feed the 5th round every time,gonna try tighten the lips like Vansicle posted above,hope to god that it works.
Only tried it out on my Chinese SKS so far,should try it out on my Russians too I guess.

Mine usually fails on the 3rd round, have to try squeezing shut the mag also, see if it helps.
 
Well I tried squeezing the lips together to no avail,also tried the mag in my two Russian SKS's still the same problem,its as if the mag doesn't sit high enough in the rifle for the last round to feed into the chamber.
Guess I am back to the original mag or maybe try the polymer mags.

Try again but this time pull the bottom of the mag to the rear, this may force the rear of the mag up, if this solves your problem, returning you mag to us for exchange may solve your problem. In an event let me know how it works out. Please no returns with our a return number.
 
This is what it looks like,the tip of the round wants to feed into the gap below the chamber.




The mag is fully in place,even in the Russian rifles in the original wooden stocks the mag seems to sit the same.
