SKS 55/56 question

Bought an SKS 55/56 the other day. Its in beautiful condition with the mag pinned with the welded on rod. Although I see the solid wood stock doesnt have any stamped numbers? Whats up with that. Every SKS I see has some stampings. Also looking for refurb marks but dont see the usual square with a line through it.

That's typical of the last years they were produced in Russia

If it's a Yugo. There should not be any [\] or <> markings as those are of Russian/Ukraine origin.

A Yugo refub marking is a "TRZ" on the right rear of the buttstock.

It has the grenade launcher, correct?

I believe he meant 55/56, which is a common term for the final production year models, not 59/66.
