Was wondering if this is an alright group or should I go back to the drawing board. This is an eight and a half by eleven sheet of paper.
:slap:

Hmmm my bone stock '54 Tula shoots groups about the size of your aiming mark at that range with surplus ammo. Some bedding might do the trick, is it a Russian refurb or chinese SKS? any mods?

I get about that size group with my chinese sks.
Its not impressive to be sure... thats why I burn as many rounds, fast as I can out of my piece of sh-t rifle just to see how hot I can get it.:)

Cant wait to make a fishing rod holder out of the receiver and a boat anchor out of the barrel.:D

I've already bedded the receiver area with fiberglass. The ammo is 1986 army surplus and the rifle is a 1953 Russian.

I would do better with a scope because I can hardly see the black dot from my sights.

I'm pretty sure you could shrink your groups simply by adopting a different target.
You need a 5 to 6 inches solid black bullseye at 100 meters.
Put your post at 6 o'clock on the bottom so that black dot floats on top of your front post and squeeeze slowly. Resist the urge of emptying the mag fast.
PP.

If your target was a man shooting back at you, you would have done your job. This is reasonable for an SKS, some are better, but not lots.

x3 that's about all I can get from my chicom as well. My russian at 100m is another story, same ammo.....totally different rifle. With my russian that 5" black would be f#$ked with a few "flyers" that's shooting iron sights on both.
But yea, the chicom would get the job done no problem when it counted...deer or zombies:)

That's about par with my SKS. Mine is a refurbished 1951. I just shoot milk jugs full of water at around 50 yards with it now. For accuracy, I have other iron to shoot with.

If it was a deer you might have a wounded deer on your hands, that might suffer alot until the wolves find it and it would suffer some more. These rifles are for playing war at the gun range and not for use on majestic game animals, that target reminds me of why.

That's why you're meant to track it after hitting it (Which you sure would with that grouping) Also, it's a piece of paper, so we needn't worry too much about it suffering.
