I decided to buy a new SKS. I see Wanstalls has some Russian rifles for sale for $199. I also hear Marstar is getting in some new Chinese rifles later this year.

I am partial to Wanstalls as I have purchased some rifles there before and was very happy with their service.

Does anyone know if the SKS’s they are selling are good quality and if so what should I look for when selecting one?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Since you are in Vancouver, Lever Arms has a bunch in stock and they offer $350 for the rifle, plus a case of ammo.

If you really want to do a mail order though, i've had great success with Frontier Firearms over the last couple weeks.

I was litterally just looking at that. Quick question though, whats the difference between the laminate stock and the Birch stock?

I think I may be right but...
The top 1 is a laminate stock. (Can see the grain in the stock)
The middle is birch. (Amber in colour)
The bottom is called hardwood. (AKA Russian Red colour stock)
