SKS ammo???

the corrosive part of the ammo is the primer...
Corrosive primers use stable, long-lived explosives that generate corrosive residues in a gun, usually metallic oxides, which, when exposed to moisture, form hydroxides. They are popular in military applications because they work reliably under severe conditions, but more careful attention must be paid to cleaning the weapon after every use. Noncorrosive primers are somewhat less reliable when stored for many years, hence why the military use them...

Curious...just about to get into the world of 7.62x39 and want to know what the non-corrosive ammo is. Is it the Berdan primers or the powder and round??? may seem like a dumb question, but hey ya gotta figure it out some way.

The general rule of thumb is peek inside the spent case and if you see two small flash holes instead of one large one then you have corrosive Berdan primers.
