SKS ammo?

I got my SKS a month ago, with a box of czech ammo. Finally, put on the T6 stock, was getting ready to shoot tomorrow. Opened the box (that was a PITA), and only then saw "7.62 X 43mm" on the box. WTF??? I know that SKS takes 7.62 X 39mm, what do I do now? I don't suppose Al Simmons will take an open case back, even though I was clearly buying ammo to go with the SKS, bummer...

Could it be that it IS in fact 7.62X39mm?? Then again, I chambered the cartridge by hand, and it doesn't go all the way in, still sticks out by 4mm or so. Would the bolt push it all the way in? Being at home, I decided against trying this out.

Relax it's fine, I am not too sure the reasoning behind it but that's the stuff you want, I am on my 4th crate of that stuff with my sks. Im sure someone here knows the reasoning behind it and will chime in.

That's the correct ammo called M43. Somehow they put 7.62 in front of 43.

Just shoot it.

It is 7.62-43, not X43. Basically; 7.62 calibre - model of 1943. Also known in the civilian world as 7.62x39mm

Lemme guess, you bought the ammo at "Baron Sports" ? I once had to correct them on the matter, the ammo is the right type, no worries.

No, I got mine from Al Simmons in Hamilton. They know their ammo way better than I do, so I guess I had no reason to freak out.
