I got my SKS a month ago, with a box of czech ammo. Finally, put on the T6 stock, was getting ready to shoot tomorrow. Opened the box (that was a PITA), and only then saw "7.62 X 43mm" on the box. WTF??? I know that SKS takes 7.62 X 39mm, what do I do now?
I don't suppose Al Simmons will take an open case back, even though I was clearly buying ammo to go with the SKS, bummer...
Could it be that it IS in fact 7.62X39mm?? Then again, I chambered the cartridge by hand, and it doesn't go all the way in, still sticks out by 4mm or so. Would the bolt push it all the way in? Being at home, I decided against trying this out.
